Mogami 3082 2-Pole speakON Professional Speaker Cable

A flexible professional loudspeaker cable for connecting power amplifiers to passive loudspeakers, studio monitors, PA cabinets, guitar / bass cabinets, and other speaker systems equipped with compatible speakON connections.

Please note: this is a speaker-level cable for passive loudspeaker connections.

It is not a microphone cable, instrument cable, line-level audio cable, or AC mains / general-purpose power cable.

This cable is built with MOGAMI 3082, a professional coaxial speaker cable using approximately 14 AWG / 2.03 mm² conductors.

Unlike a conventional parallel two-conductor speaker cable, Mogami 3082 uses a coaxial construction in which both the center conductor and outer conductor have the same 2.03 mm² conductor area.

This allows relatively large conductors to be contained within a compact and flexible cable measuring approximately 6.5 mm in outside diameter.

The cable is terminated with genuine NEUTRIK NL2FXX-W-S 2-pole speakON connectors using the standard 1+ / 1− loudspeaker wiring configuration.

Wiring:

• Center conductor → speakON 1+

• Outer conductor → speakON 1−

The NL2FXX-W-S also mates with compatible 4-pole speakON chassis connectors while using only the 1+ and 1− contacts.

This makes the cable suitable for many conventional single-channel amplifier-to-speaker connections using either 2-pole or compatible 4-pole speakON panel connectors.

About the MOGAMI 3082 Coaxial Construction:

Mogami 3082 is unusual among conventional speaker cables because it uses a coaxial geometry rather than two parallel insulated conductors.

The center conductor carries the positive speaker output, while the surrounding outer conductor provides the negative return path.

Both conductors have approximately the same conductor area.

This construction allows Mogami to fit approximately 14 AWG conductors into a cable with an outside diameter of only approximately 6.5 mm while maintaining excellent flexibility.

The compact diameter also makes 3082 particularly well matched mechanically with the Neutrik NL2FXX-W-S connector and its chuck-type strain-relief system.

About the NEUTRIK NL2FXX-W-S:

The NL2FXX-W-S is Neutrik’s current-generation 2-pole speakON cable connector.

It features:

• 2-pole configuration

• Standard 1+ / 1− contacts

The connector can mate with both compatible 2-pole speakON chassis connectors and compatible 4-pole speakON chassis connectors using the 1+ / 1− contacts.

Important Compatibility Note:

This cable uses only speakON contacts 1+ and 1−.

Most conventional single-channel speakON amplifier and loudspeaker connections use 1+ / 1−, but some bi-amped, multi-channel, subwoofer, or proprietary speaker systems may use different pin assignments such as 2+ / 2−.

Please check the pin assignment specified by your amplifier and loudspeaker manufacturers before ordering.

If your equipment requires a 4-pole wiring configuration, this 2-pole cable is not appropriate.

Note on Cable Length & Speaker Load:

Mogami 3082 provides approximately 14 AWG / 2.03 mm² conductors and is suitable for a wide range of professional speaker connections.

As with any speaker cable, electrical resistance increases with cable length.

For exceptionally long cable runs, very low-impedance loudspeaker loads, or extremely high-power systems, a larger-conductor speaker cable may be preferable.
