Mogami 2549 1/4″ TS Mono Unbalanced Studio / Instrument Cable

A sturdy unbalanced TS studio cable for synthesizers, drum machines, samplers, keyboards, DI setups, patchbays, mixers, and other line-level electronic instruments.

Please note: this is a 1/4″ TS mono unbalanced cable, not a TRS balanced cable.

This cable is built with Mogami 2549 dual-conductor shielded studio cable and wired for unbalanced 1/4″ TS use. One inner conductor carries the signal, while the second inner conductor and shield are tied to the sleeve for the return path.

It is intended for unbalanced line-level connections such as analog and digital synthesizers, drum machines with individual / parallel outputs, samplers, keyboards, DI boxes, patchbays, mixers, and other studio equipment with 1/4″ TS unbalanced inputs or outputs.

Guitar / Bass Use:

This cable can also be used as an electric guitar or bass cable. However, it is made from Mogami 2549 dual-conductor shielded studio cable, not from a purpose-built low-noise guitar cable such as Mogami 2524.

For high-gain guitar setups, heavy stage use, or situations where handling noise and microphonics are critical, a dedicated guitar cable may still be preferable.

On the other hand, if handling noise is not a concern, this construction may be an interesting option for guitar and bass use — in the same general way that some two-conductor microphone cables, such as Belden 8412, are sometimes used successfully as instrument cables.

Available in five Mogami cable colors — useful for cable tracing, instrument identification, DI lines, synth outputs, patchbay connections, or simply matching your guitar, bass, pedalboard, or setup.

Note on Longer Lengths:

This is an unbalanced TS cable. For long cable runs, very noisy environments, or professional installations where balanced connections are available, a balanced TRS / XLR cable or DI box may be preferable.
