Mogami 2944 TRS Stereo to Dual XLR Male Breakout Cable — Assembled in Tokyo

This cable is intended for sending a stereo TRS output to two separate XLR male connectors:

Left channel and Right channel.

 

Typical use cases include:

• 3.5 mm stereo output to mixer / audio interface XLR inputs

• Laptop / tablet / portable player stereo output to L/R XLR inputs

• Synthesizer / sampler / desktop audio gear stereo output to dual XLR inputs

• 1/4″ TRS stereo output to separate Left and Right XLR inputs

 

This is a passive breakout cable.

It does not convert an unbalanced signal into a balanced signal.

It does not provide isolation, buffering, impedance matching, or level conversion.

Wiring

TRS Tip → Left XLR pin 2

TRS Ring → Right XLR pin 2

TRS Sleeve → XLR pin 1 / ground

XLR pin 3 is tied to pin 1 for unbalanced connection compatibility.

 

Black / Red version:

Black side → Left channel / Tip

Red side → Right channel / Ring

Black / Black version:

Left and Right sides will be identified with marking.

IMPORTANT NOTES — Please Read

• This is a stereo unbalanced breakout cable.

It is not a balanced XLR cable.

• The TRS connector is used as a stereo L/R connector.

It is not used as a balanced mono TRS connector.

• This cable does not duplicate one balanced output into two identical balanced XLR outputs.

• Do not use this cable to combine two outputs into one input.

Passive signal combining can damage equipment or cause improper operation.

• If connecting this cable to XLR microphone inputs, please make sure phantom power is turned off.

• For best results, use appropriate input gain settings.

 

A headphone or line-level stereo output may be much hotter than a microphone-level input.

• The 3.5 mm option uses a standard TRS stereo mini plug.

It is not a TRRS smartphone headset connector.

Compatibility depends on the design and configuration of your equipment.
